The Best Cat Food

What Makes a Good Cat Food, the Best Cat Food?

(Click Here for Our Recommendation of the Best Cat Food)

What do you think would make the best cat food?

tiggerWell, let's start simple: it would not contain any by-products (yuck) or preservatives, steroids or hormones (ewww).  It also should not contain artificial colors or flavors, dairy, corn or wheat.

You wouldn't want your cat eating things like that, and that is why it shouldn't be contained in your cat's food.

What's wrong with corn or wheat? These ingredients don't sound so bad.  Actually they can be problematic. Cats are obligate carnivores -- which means meat is absolutely necessary in their diet. Most cat food manufacturers use cereal, such as corn or wheat as their main source of protein.  Your cat should be eating a high quality animal protein and it should NOT contain by-products (gross).

What's the big deal about by-products.  They don't sound so bad.

Here's what the Animal Protection Institute has to say about by-products:

"The protein used in pet food comes from a variety of sources. When cattle, swine, chickens, lambs, or other animals are slaughtered, the choice cuts such as lean muscle tissue are trimmed away from the carcass for human consumption. However, about 50% of every food-producing animal does not get used in human foods. Whatever remains of the carcass -- bones, blood, intestines, lungs, ligaments, and almost all the other parts not generally consumed by humans -- is used in pet food, animal feed, and other products. These "other parts" are known as "by-products," "meat-and-bone-meal," or similar names on pet food labels."  Click Here Now for Full API Report!

What else would make the best cat food? Wouldn't you want to be assured that your cat is ingesting 100% complete and balanced nutrition?  Of course you would!

Making the Best Cat Food Even Better

In addition to excluding the inferior elements found in many cat foods, it's also important to add healthy vitamins too. By including probiotics, antioxidants, chelated minerals, some pet food suppliers seek to look after every part of your cat's health.

Probiotics help your cat maintain a healthy digestive tract, while minerals allow vitamins to be more readily absorbed.

Anti-oxidants help by defending against free radicals. When you understand about quality the ingredients, the best cat food becomes easy to choose.
